First Day of Grad School!

April 14th, 2025 marks the first day of my Master of Arts in Executive Leadership at Royal Roads University — and this moment feels BIG.

Not just because I’m back in school, but because I never thought I’d be able to go to university, let alone a master’s program. I was always told I wouldn’t be “academic enough” to make it here. But here I am.

I’m feeling excited, proud, and ready to grow — not just for myself, but for the people and communities I serve.

I’ve spent years creating brave, inclusive spaces through outdoor education, leadership coaching, and adventure programming. I’ve worked with young people, emerging leaders, and people who’ve been told “you can’t.” Now, it’s time to stretch myself even further.

Like lodgepole pines, I aim to create environments where emerging leaders can rise — through every stage of growth — cultivating the conditions for transformation, not halted by challenge, but ignited by it. 🌲🔥

Thank you to the Rick and Marg Jensen Foundation for providing me with a scholarship for this program, and for all you do for our community. ❤️
